When Hoechst Marion Roussel ( HMR ), the Pharmaceutical Company of the Hoechst Group, decided to supply the Andean Group from a new factory in Venezuela and consequently to close its plant in Ecuador, a group of Executives of Hoechst Eteco S.A. offered to buy the plant in Quito-Ecuador. This is how Albonova starts its operations on April 1, 1998 as the management buy out of the former Hoechst Plant The group of investors shared the common conviction that more than 20 years of manufacturing experience and the quality of the facilities were an excellent opportunity to develop a new and independent business. Albonova S.A. run fully operations until Dec. 2002, and partially-to closure until 2007 only after covering every liability so the Management Buy Out was closed with order and control.
