Poseidon own and maintain a large pool of state of the art ground geophysical survey instruments for time and frequency domain EM, IP/resistivity, gravity, magnetics, refraction seismic, and borehole logging. The company operates three Zonge GDP 16/32 systems and have undertaken TDEM, IP, CR and CSAMT surveys throughout the African continent. Poseidon has four wireline borehole logging crews operational in countries throughout Africa, from Mauritania, Tanzania and Mozambique. The Poseidon Group have collected more than 1,000,000 line kilometres of airborne geophysical survey data in the late nineties. Poseidon were also pioneers in the development of the triaxial aeromagnetic gradiometer system which has proven successful for kimberlite exploration and enhanced geological and structural mapping. Poseidon subsequently sold its airborne business to Fugro Airborne Surveys in 2001 Poseidon Geophysics own and operate three Scintrex CG-3 AutoGrav gravity meters including a MicroGal high precision meter. Poseidon collects more than 3,000 gravity stations annually. Poseidon operates a dual frequency differential GPS survey system to provide accurate co-ordinates from gravimetric surveying and borehole collar information.
