The mission of the Strategic Business Institute (SBI) is to create and disseminate knowledge, to facilitate student learning, and to promote ethical business practices, while capitalizing on our School’s diversity. Our distant learning programs develop skills in Social Entrepreneurship through a world-class education by building knowledge through the creation of personal, professional and social skills for entrepreneurs and risk takers. SBI accomplishes its mission by: • Promoting excellence in education through our executive distant learning business programs, to prepare students, seniors, children, veterans and the poor for success in the global economy; • Supporting scholarly research and professional studies in areas valuable to business and society; • Setting our students’ foundations for life-long learning through high quality distant learning experiences resulting from quality teaching, technology, student professional organizations, and interactions with faculty and business professionals. • Encouraging critical thinking, quantitative reasoning, effective communication, ethical decision-making and social responsibility. • Integrating and fostering an experiential and personalized learning environment. • Furthering the scope and dissemination of scholarly research that enhances and advances learning, improves outcomes of for-profit, not-for-profit and governmental organizations. • Contributing to the economic development of our students and business community through our outreach programs. • Building a community of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and business professionals through academic centers, non-degree programs, certification programs, continuing education programs and public events.
