Farmers' Mutual Insurance Company, Glengarry Mutual Insurance Company, and Lanark Mutual Insurance Company have amalgamated to form The Commonwell Mutual Insurance Group effective January 1, 2014. This allowed us to be a more diverse company better positioned to compete with the human resource, distributor and technology challenges that we faced individually. Maintaining our focus on local and personal service throughout our existing territories of operation will keep us connected to what has made us successful in the past while leveraging economies of scale for the benefit of our members into the future. The geography of our membership as The Commonwell Mutual Insurance Group will stretch from the easternmost region of Ontario to Orangeville and Collingwood in the west, surrounding the GTA and along the shore of Lake Ontario in the south to Parry Sound and North Bay in the north. As of the end of 2012, our companies collectively have almost 88,000 policies in force. We are committed to profitable growth, team development, ingenuity, while having fun at work.
