In the west, it extends into the Great Salt Lake. Both mountains and flatlands are laced by the Ogden and Weber Rivers and their tributaries. Weber County is the second smallest county in land mass and the fourth largest in population in the State of Utah, with a population now approaching 275,000 residents. There are fifteen incorporated cities within Weber County. Of that number, Weber County Sheriff's Office provides all direct law-enforcement services for seven of those cities. The Sheriff's Office also contracts with the U. S. Forest Service to provide additional security in the Wasatch-Cache National Forest.
