Student reporters use the vibrant and diverse streets of Toronto as their workshop: a bustling Yonge Street, City Hall, the financial district, and distinct social neighborhoods like Chinatown and Kensington Market. Students write, report, broadcast and publish under the guidance of world class faculty members who work in the industry and hold students accountable to excellent standards. Once they have completed their foundational courses students are free to choose courses to suit their interests and their strengths. Their work appears in a variety of forms and publications including a weekly campus paper, The Ryersonian, and the award-winning magazine Ryerson Review of Journalism. Ryerson Journalism students receive the hands-on experience necessary to not only obtain jobs as reporters and producers, but also to excel in the newsroom.
