Equilibrium, an investment service of Counterpoint Capital Advisers, LLC, is a leveraged long/short global equity portfolio with a mandate to protect wealth first and grow it second. We daily identify where to invest using a proprietary algorithm tracking program that maps the trading data of institutional algorithms and calculates supply/demand “equilibriums” from the data. We then feed the data into a braking program to determine whether clients should be invested in equities (favorable market condition) or cash (unfavorable market condition). If markets are favorable, we utilize a steering program to determine which markets (U.S. or international) are the most and least favorable markets and a fueling program to determine how much we should invest — up to 130% long for the most favorable market and up to 30% short for the least favorable market. If markets are unfavorable, portfolios are invested in 100% cash and up to 30% short the least favorable market.
