Since 1988, Bridgeway has provided care for over 2100 Foster Children/Youth in partnership with over 380 Foster Parents. Bridgeway Family Homes is licensed by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services to provide foster care services to Foster Children/Youth in certain geographical areas across the Province of Ontario including: Toronto Central East Regions (Cobourg, Belleville, Kingston, Ottawa) North East Regions (Lindsay, Peterborough, Campbellford) Central West Regions (Brampton, Mississauga, Listowel) Simcoe Regions (Barrie, Angus) Southwest and Southeast Regions (Hamilton/Niagara, London, Kitchener/Waterloo). Commitment, Care & Compassion Our current community of Foster Parents have fostered for an average of 8.8 years. 58% of our Foster Parent community have fostered for over 5 years. Our present community of Foster Parents has cared for over 973 Foster Children/Youth. We Provide Permanency for Children To date, 141 children have been adopted by 46 Bridgeway Families. Of our total in care population in January 2010, 60% are Crown Wards and living in their permanent family home. We Specialize in Youth Care Since 2001, 371 youth (12 years and up) have been cared for and raised by Bridgeway Foster Families. Our youth experience placement stability; our programs are designed to promote best outcomes for youth. Youth experience youth mentorship services, life skills program initiatives, professional support services, clinical support, and opportunities that focus on the development of leadership skills that will equip them for their future.
