The Designers in Residence program at FiSF is an innovative mentorship opportunity for up-and-coming fashion apparel designers. Each year six Designers in Residence are chosen to move into the FiSF facility and empowered to succeed in the San Francisco design community and beyond. FiSF provides the Designers in Residence with premiere workshop space at Macy’s offices in downtown San Francisco and offers yearlong business and production training from experts in the San Francisco fashion and economic development communities. FiSF's mission is to revive the fashion industry in San Francisco by supporting fashion designers to build successful businesses which create jobs and manufacture locally. The Designers in Residence program offers a year-long support system with more than 25 master classes, real world business experience, and mentoring. In the three years since it's inception, FiSF has helped launch ten new businesses. FiSF is building businesses which create employment opportunities and drive economic development. The designers bring the vision. FiSF provides the tools and training. The result? Sheer inspiration.
