Restore The Music UK

Restore the Music UK is a low overhead and high impact charity focussed on funding the provision of music and music education to children in state primary and secondary schools across the UK. The RTM UK School Grant Programme offers capital grants to schools in areas of high socio-economic deprivation. Launched in 2017, RTM UK now has a funding footprint of over £1.3million across London and the potential to reach over 70,000 young people. The benefits of learning music are well known but with the urgent need to identify avenues which promote social cohesion and social mobility, it can no longer afford to be viewed as an added extra. A grounding in music education opens up access to transformative opportunities and multiple pathways by unlocking hidden talents and the ability to express in a universal language. The impact of this on young people is highly significant by helping them to engage with others, learn new skills and build cultural capital that helps to promote their positioning alongside their peers. With state schools already struggling to stretch budgets to accomodate rising poverty levels and the cost of living, the need for RTM funding to secure this access is in high demand. This year RTM UK is celebrating its 5th anniversary and has big ambitions to grow the Grant Programme and deliver funding far and wide. Target goal: deliver total funding of £2million by end 22/23 and expand in to Birmingham, Newcastle and Greater Manchester. Please get in touch if you would like to support the Grant Programme via a one-off contribution or a multi-year endowment - that would be music to our ears !
