SKHOOP was founded in Åre, northern Sweden, in 1999 by Sissi Kewenter and is primarily known for its insulated skirt, the iconic product that Sissi created after a particularly cold walk with her dog in changeable mountain weather. The Original Skirt was launched in 2001 and was an instant success in fashion-conscious Åre. Word of the practical garment soon spread throughout Sweden and beyond. Today the collection includes about 20 skirt models and SKHOOP also has jackets, merino wool base-layer garments, accessories and more – both for winter and summer life.
