Gaia Consulting Limited is a locally owned business located in the Portage la Prairie area of Manitoba. Established in 1987, we have many years of experience conducting independent pesticide efficacy research in PMRA zones 5 and 14 for crop protection companies. We focus mainly on the potato, vegetable and specialty crop industries and we have conducted trials for over forty Canadian, US and international organizations. Besides crop protection companies, we also contract with fertilizer manufacturers, commodity associations, food processors, individual farmers and government. We have also conducted cooperative research projects with institutions such as the University of Manitoba. We also collaborate with many pathologists, entomologists, weed scientists, plant breeders and other professionals. Crop protection efficacy and tolerance trials that we have carried out have contributed to the successful registration of many new active ingredients into the Canadian Market. We also conduct many agronomic trials for grower associations and variety evaluation trials for seed companies. Although our main research station is located near Newton MB, we have agreements in place to carry out research trials in Winkler and Carberry MB. To provide the right pest or soil nutrient residual level, we also carry out many trials in grower fields as required by the client. We have access to a sizeable land base consisting of a broad range of fertility, soil type and pest spectrum enabling us to conduct a wide range of research. This leads to a high rate of trial success, as we make every effort to meet client needs.
