Barristers Chambers established December 2004, Ian Morison is and has been the only member of the Chambers. The business name is held in trust for the WA Bar Association. Ian Morison was a barrister at Francis Burt Chambers in Perth Western Australia and moved to bunbury in 2004 where he set up South West Bar Chambers. Ian Morison is now the only barrister practising outside the Perth metropolitan area. There was a barrister practising in Bunbury but she has moved to Perth and has joined Francis Burt Chambers. Ian Morison is a Country member of Francis Burt Chambers and uses its email address. Ian Morison takes instructions from solicitors in Perth and the South West and Great Southern areas of Western Australia, about half and half respectively. Ian Morison was admitted to practice in December 1979 and completed his articled clerkship at the former firm Parker & Parker which later merged with what is nowFreehills. Ian Morison joined Warren McDonald French & Harrison in 1983 and was a partner from 1985 to 1993 when he became a consultant to the firm, finally leaving in 1995 to join Francis Burt Chambers and practice exclusively as a barrister. Mine is a busy practice, less so now that I have ceased taking legal aid work. I will come back to legal aid work toward the end of my career. I am known as a commercial litigation barrister but it was a privilege to act for legal aid clients. Most of the legal aid clients are victims more than criminals.
