www.scedd.comSouthern Colorado Economic Development District (SCEDD) supports the economic development efforts of thirteen Colorado counties, from the Rocky Mountains to the eastern plains - Baca, Bent, Chaffee, Crowley, Custer, Fremont, Huerfano, Kiowa, Lake, Las Aimas, Otero, Prowers, and Pueblo. SCEDD’s primary office is located in Pueblo, CO, with regional Disaster Recovery Planners based in Salida, Walsenburg, and Las Animas, CO. SCEDD offers grant writing, planning, and other technical resources to member counties, and to communities and organizations within these counties, in addition to maintaining the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) document required by the Economic Development Administration (EDA) to maintain our economic development district designation. Our goal is to help southern Colorado prosper. We’re involved in encouraging counties to develop broadband internet resources and looking at ways to solve problems related to attainable housing. We’ve helped theaters – long regarding as core anchors on small town Main St’s – apply for disaster relief, and working with individuals and companies interested in starting or moving to south-eastern Colorado.
