E3-India is a collaborative initiative by the Regulatory Assistance Project (RAP) and Cambridge Econometrics (CE). The development team has ensured that all stakeholders have access to the model to enable independent validation to inform policymaking. The model is further vetted by regular engagement with local experts and potential users. E3-India is a comprehensive state-level model for evidence-based policymaking in India. Developed with transparency and ease of access in mind, the model allows users to develop a shared and collective understanding of energy issues, thereby creating space for consensus-building for policy interventions. Because much of India’s energy policy and implementation occurs at the state level, the modelling design centres on state actions.
