OUR ROOTS The story of Eden Group began when Late Bansidhar Modi migrated from Rajasthan to Assam in the 1870s. His son, Late Badridass Modi, a visionary entrepreneur, first established a business in hardware trade and later foresaw the future potential of Tea in the 1920s. He established a bouquet of Tea estates and factories, spanning across the scenic regions of Upper Assam & Cachar and thus, laid the foundation of Eden Group. TEA Sree Sibbari Tea Estate, the brand name under which Eden Group markets its teas, is well known among the quality-conscious markets of Germany, Japan and the USA as a grower and manufacturer of some of the highest quality tea in Upper Assam. Under the able leadership of Shri D.N. Modi, we improvised our processes and with a firm commitment to quality, nurtured one of the premium quality Assam Orthodox Tea Estates from Upper Assam. A few of our specialty teas were sold at Rs. 3400 per kg and over, the highest recorded selling price for Assam tea in the 2008 season.
