Capital Area Paralegal Association (CAPA) is a voluntary non-profit corporation comprised of paralegals and legal assistants, students, and vendors in Austin, Texas and the Central Texas area. CAPA was organized in September 1978 by a small group of pioneering paralegals and has since grown into the largest Texas affiliate of NALA - The Paralegal Association. Benefits of Membership include: - EDUCATION through CLE luncheons, CLE Seminars, Lunch & Learn CLEs - NETWORKING through socials, luncheons, meetings, & community service - JOB BANK exclusive to members, averaging 3-5 job postings per month - SCHOLARSHIPS offered twice a year which can be utilized for paralegal certifications, CLE, classes and professional membership dues - PRO BONO OPPORTUNITIES through Veteran's Court, Volunteer Legal Clinics, CASA & TexasLawHelp.org - MENTORSHIP guidance from seasoned paralegals, or become a mentor and assist a student or new paralegal - COMMUNITY SERVICE: donate, participate, and volunteer to benefit local charities Participation through 4 membership types: Voting, Associate, Student, and Sustaining.
