ROBINSON IRON has skilled craftspersons on staff who have conserved, preserved and restored bronze, aluminum and iron. Our depth of understanding and careful assessment of existing conditions position us as one of the premier metal artisans in America. On January 1, 1946 the Robinson Foundry and Builders Supply Company came into operation with 11 employees including the president and owner, Joseph H. Robinson, Sr.. In 1974 J. Scott Howell was named Vice President/General Manager and launched Robinson Iron as a separate company. Robinson markets a line of historic cast iron reproductions (Janney, Fiske, Mott and Perot) and specializes in the restoration and custom casting of Architectural Metalwork. Recently completed restoration work includes: Phase II Restoration of the Cast Iron Dome of the Colorado Statehouse, Denver CO; Restoration of the South and North Wing, Visitor Center and Dome of the Kansas Statehouse, Topeka, Kansas. New restoration work includes; Exterior and Dome Renovations, New Capitol the Mississippi Statehouse; Alterations to the ceiling grilles of the Grand Stairs in the House and Senate, U.S. Capitol, Washington, DC. Project Awards: 2009 Institute of Honor Award for Architecture – AIA, Baltimore Basilica 2011 Palladio Award, Nemours Mansion 2013 Lucy G.
