We do this by providing a range of activities within a safe, supportive and non-judgemental environment, and members are involved in every level of decision making about the running of the Centre. Open Door aims to: ◾Encourage members (people attending) to feel unique and wanted ◾Provide choice and positive opportunities for personal development ◾Encourage members to take personal responsibility for their own lives ◾Provide support on a practical and personal level ◾Support members in making and implementing important decisions regarding their health, employment or accommodation ◾Provide an accepting and empowering environment for all users of the Centre ◾Encourage members to develop social networks for their own support ◾Provide opportunities for members to be involved in every level of decision making about the running of the Centre. Members are encouraged to be independent adults, understanding their rights and choices, in order to become respected, confident, valued members of society.
