Mapperton House and Gardens are open to the public March to October, Sunday to Thursday. Our recently refurbished 19th century venue, The Coach House, is available for private hire including weddings, business functions, family celebrations and social gatherings. With flexible space for up to 200 people and facilities including outdoor seating, professional sound system, 4k projector and controllable lighting, our unique setting offers a peaceful haven for private events, with sole access available on Fridays and Saturdays in the season. Mapperton House is a glorious Dorset sandstone manor in the heart of Hardy country, home to the Earl and Countess of Sandwich. The romantic Italianate valley garden, deep in a lost Dorset combe among tumbling hills and unspoiled countryside, is a delight to explore for all ages and a must-see for visitors to the area. Our location is popular with tour groups and we welcome enquiries from tour companies interested in visiting Mapperton. The premium package is especially popular for groups looking for a memorable and exclusive experience. The Sawmill Cafe serves light lunches, cakes, cream teas, ice-creams and a wide range of hot and cold drinks. It is open 11am to 5pm and outdoor seating is available.
