Animal Friends is a current Hong Kong registered non-profitable charity organization (91/11066). Our motto is to provide care and needed treatment to the stray dogs and cats in Hong Kong, and our main objective is to humanely control the population of these stray animals by means of desexing. Although Hong Kong is described as a world-class cosmopolitan city and the size is small, there are still many villages and warehouse yards, especially in North West New Territories. Cats and dogs live in these areas are not kept as pets. Many of them are not protected nor have enough food, some even become stray animals. Target Services: Animal Friends Food Bank and Community Animals Desexing:- The Animal Friends Food Bank provides a steady food source for multiple dog shelters and stray/semi-stray animals, over 600 animals are privileged every month. Community Animals Desexing:- Many dogs and cats living at the warehouses, construction sites, outdoor car parks and villages in the New Territories are often kept for the purpose of guarding or pest control. Their keepers often pay no medical attention when these animals get sick or injured through car accidents or fights. The animals are mostly neglected and malnourished. Hunger and mating desire make them roam around to search for food and mating partners. Unfortunately, these animals are not desexed, and numerous puppies and kittens are born each year. Animal Friends proactively reaches out and searches for the animals in need of help. Currently, We provide free desexing surgeries to 160-200 animals per month. Have them desexed dramatically reduces the number of animals being born each year. We also aim to educate the keepers on the proper care and treatment, thereby improving the animals' overall welfare standard in the long term. Mission and Goal:- Dedicated to helping the stray animals and their treatments. Aim to improve their lives and control stray animals populations by the humane method- desexing. We proactively reach out to the animal keepers in New Territories rural areas and arrange their animals to have desexing surgeries. Over 11,300 animals are desexed under our free desexing program. Besides, we also treat ill or injured animals and provide food to those in need of help. Educate keepers to provide basic needs to the animals with proper food and living conditions. Respect the animals' lives.
