It currently has its headquarters in Paris, France, and two regional offices in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Dakar, Senagal. IIEP-UNESCO's office for Latin America and the Caribbean in Buenos Aires was founded in 1998. After twenty years of direct presence in the region, a specific knowledge has been developed about the educational systems of Latin America. This allows the institute to provide an up-to-date and contextualized vision on transcendental topics for planning, management and evaluation of educational policies.
