Art from the margins (AFTM) is a creative initiative of Wesley Mission Queensland. AFTM brings artists together and bridges the gap between them and the wilder community. AFTM supports the creative development of artists living with adversity, mental health issues, physical or intellectual disabilities, or experiencing homelessness and social isolation. Since 2008 , AFTM has supported more than one Thousand artists and over fifty community art groups located within the Brisbane area and beyond. AFTM Gallery & Studios operates from 136 Brunswick Street in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. We hold exhibitions, events and art workshops in this space throughout the year. Our hope is to develop a vibrant, creative and inclusive inner city art space.
