The Padre Pio Foundation of America was founded in 1977. The Padre Pio Foundation's mission is to promote devotion to Padre Pio, to carry on Padre Pio's mission to help those in need whether is be spiritually or physically, support vocations and to aid the places that were near and dear to Padre Pio during his lifetime such as his hometown of Pietrelcina and the friary in San Giovanni Rotondo where Padre Pio lived for 50 years and give support to the hospital that Padre Pio built, La Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza.
