The Birchtree Centre is a collaborative collective of Sydney Clinical Psychologists, Psychologists, Psychotherapists and Clinical Social Workers who specialise in treating Complex Trauma, Addictions and Eating Disorders. Birchtree’s treatment program provides Individual Therapy, Group Therapy, Trauma Sensitive Yoga, and Art Therapy. Psycho-education workshops are conducted to for survivors of Complex Trauma and for family and friends. The Birchtree Centre of Excellence runs Continuing Professional Development Training in Complex Trauma to Allied Health Professionals, Doctors, Nurses, and Educators in both in Sydney and around Australia. Birchtree also conducts research into evidence based treatments for Complex Trauma. *Complex Trauma is best understood as multiple traumas occasioned in childhood due to abuse and neglect that have impacts into the adult years.
