Your Future, Your Ambition was founded in 2011 with the aspiration of inspiring young people (ages 7 to 23 yrs) from diverse backgrounds into pursuing STEAM (Science Technology Engineering, Arts & Maths) based careers. In 2012, along with the support of 14 organisations the Your Future, Your Ambition (YFYA) event was launched. YFYA provides younger aged students (7-16yrs) with exciting and inspiring activities, whilst providing the older age groups (17+ to Graduates) with access to blue chip organisations through key workshops and exposure designed to provide the key tools top companies are looking for in respect to STEM based careers. Each year the event aims to attract companies in order to connect with schools, students and school leavers. This will we feel, create a stronger and more binding link between education and industry. After a complete overhaul of the YFYA brand in early 2017 and Tunji Akintokun standing down as co-director of YFYA, the event returned to the Emirates Stadium in October 2017. The event welcomed over 960 students from across the country, 22 supporting organisations and over 220 volunteers whom all worked tirelessly to ensure every young person left the event inspired and encouraged. Now heading into it’s 7th annual event, the theme of the 2018 event is “STEM of Tomorrow” which aims to attract, excite and inspire those attending in that what lies ahead are fantastic careers in STEM based industries. The format of the event will follow the highly successful approach in previous years of ativities, exposure and experiences provided by key companies and specialist organisations.
