Payne is an unconventional breed of guitar maker. From a small workshop in Queensferry, Scotland, we follow in the time-honoured tradition of making custom guitars by hand. But, like most Scots, we do things a bit differently. We want to evolve ‘the electric guitar’ without changing ‘the electric guitar’. So our guitars look different, sound different, feel different and play different. But they are as familiar as any guitar you’ve ever played. Our use of modern technology with traditional craft and innovative design gives our guitars a distinctive character that is contemporary but authentic. This sense of character runs through our range of original guitar models, each designed to offer versatility, classic looks, rich tone and effortless playability. Most guitarists spend a lifetime investing in their sound. We want to make guitars that do exactly the same.
