Since its inception at the end of 2011 DoucheFLUX has facilitated the reinsertion of destitute people into society, whether or not they are homeless, whether or not their papers are in order, wherever they are from, by providing them with services and organizing activities, and/or offering them to join one of the teams of volunteers. All DoucheFLUX activities are run by teams which include people who are vulnerable or who have experienced homelessness. They aim to give these people a voice, and to raise public awareness, both among the general public and among specific target groups, so as to promote informed discussion of poverty and homelessness. At the end of March 2017 the organisation opened a completely renovated building near Brussels Midi Railway Station. The new building (650 m2) harbours a day-care centre. It offers showers, a launderette, lockers, basic health care and psychosocial support, wellness services... DoucheFLUX seeks to restore people's energy, dignity and self-esteem, so that they can start rebuilding their own future, by escaping homelessness or avoiding a return to it.
