Home of Hope Texas
www.homeofhopetexas.orgOur mission is to bring justice for children being crushed by sexual slavery. In 2014 alone, there were 9802 incidents of child sex trafficking in the U.S. as reported by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. In addition, over 1,000,000 cases of child pornography were logged, a virtual tie to sex trafficking. A large number of these children come from unsafe or broken homes. Many were runaways and many were already in the child care system. The State Department has identified long-term care as one of the most needed and essential elements in helping these children recover. Without alternate care, many of these victims often return to the lifestyle they were rescued from. Sadly, there is a great need for facilities of this nature. There are currently less than 300 beds are available nationwide. The purpose for our long-term care facility is to help meet this great need for resident programs that focus on the care and restoration of adolescent victims. Our program is specifically designed to meet the needs of children between the ages of 8 and 18 through a holistic care approach including: 24-hour care, professional counseling, medical aid, various forms of therapy, education, life skills and more. In general we aim to keep a child for a minimum of 1 year to assure they receive adequate care that empowers them to fully recover and not return to a lifestyle of abuse and control. In some cases when family support is not healthy or existent, Home of Hope is prepared to extend the child’s care to the age of 18, with options for transitional care beyond 18.
