The FVGLA provides: o Nearly 10% of the Farmington and Barney Libraries budgets o 25% of the funding for Stanley Whitman-House and Museum o 100% of funding to manage the Memento Mori Cemetery, and o 100% of the Village Green maintenance budget, and it o Oversees for the Scott Swamp Cemetery. The Farmington Village Green and Library Association (FVGLA) was incorporated in 1901 and is a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation. It has a 40-member, self-appointed board of trustees comprised of an executive committee (chairman, president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, assistant treasurer, Library Committee (board) chair, SWH museum board chair and corporate council (ex-officio). Mission: To enhance the quality of life and preserve the cultural history of Farmington through the financial support and operation of the Farmington and Barney Libraries, Stanley-Whitman House museum, the Village Green, and Memento Mori Cemetery. Each of these entities is essential to the culture and a timeless treasure in the crown of Farmington. They will be as relevant 100 years from now as they were 100 years ago. Without them, the face of the area would change dramatically.
