Dance & Arts Therapy NZ is a registered charitable trust. We're all about moving creatively together and work hard to support and empower individuals and groups in Aotearoa/NZ through the use of Dance Movement Therapy and Arts Therapy. We focus on vulnerable communities: those with disabilities and special needs, and at-risk individuals from low income backgrounds. We are a team of professionals who value: Creativity | Connection | Nurturing | Growth | Integrity | Collaboration The DTNZ therapy team is highly qualified and is made up of therapists who have been trained as Dance Movement Therapists internationally, therapists who have completed or are completing Clinical Arts Therapy training in New Zealand specialising in Dance Movement Therapy, and Dance Education Specialists who focus on the fusion of disability and dance. We currently offer 17 therapeutic programmes around Aotearoa/NZ as well as various outreach projects including parent/teacher workshops. We have four types of programmes: *Arts 4 Us General - a drop-in arts therapy programme for at-risk children from low income backgrounds *Arts 4 Us Specialty - an arts therapy programme for children with special needs and disabilities *Dance 4 Us - a drop-in dance movement therapy programme for adults and young adults with special needs and disabilities *STARS - a dance movement and arts therapy hybrid programme catering to high needs children
