MANIFOLD design

www.manifolddesign.com

MANIFOLD design was established by Karen Lemmert and David Naill in 2001 as a collaborative practice engaged in the development of conceptual work within the physical landscape. They are committed to fostering new sustainable growth within the existing environment and embracing the challenge of incorporating new investigations into the built landscape to both preserve cultural history and propagate new potential. MANIFOLD design is engaged in the planning and design of new structures and the renovation and conservation of existing buildings. They have the knowledge and experience to design and build at a wide range of scales from large commercial structures and landscape projects to residential projects with custom furniture and objects. Each project begins with a generative concept rather that a predetermined form or image so that an inventive and expressive language of material and structure can emerge and be made evident in the work. Karen Lemmert and David Naill teach a Design Studio in the Environmental Design Program at the Maryland Institute College of Art.
