The mission of UrbanPromise Los Angeles is to support the children and youth of Los Angeles as they grow to be Christian leaders who are determined to restore their communities. Our vision is to reach a child, raise a leader, and restore community. We strive to fulfill this mission and vision through our three core programs: AfterSchool Program, Summer Camp, and our StreetLeader Program. Students in grades Kindergarten - 5th grade attend our AfterSchool and Summer Camp programs free of charge. Our K-5th grade students receive academic support and tutoring, learn lessons from the Bible, engage STEM activities, and participate in sports and activities. Unique to UrbanPromise, local high school students are employed part-time to serve as the tutors, mentors, and role models for our elementary students enrolled in our AfterSchool and Summer Camp programs. Through our StreetLeader program, high school students are paid and trained to effectively and positively use their influence to impact the lives of our younger students. Our StreetLeaders also receive job training, leadership development, spiritual guidance, and help with the college application process - as many of them would be the first in their families to attend and/or graduate from college. Ultimately, UrbanPromise Los Angeles hopes to develop and support a new generation of leaders who are equipped with the knowledge, resources, and love of Christ to most effectively lead their communities.
