The Ugwumba Center for Leadership Development in Africa was established in Nigeria in 2018 with a mandate is to raise a new generation of leaders and entrepreneurs for Africa. Our vision is that of an African society whose democracy and economy are led by young people and women, who are building peaceful democratic systems and successful business empires. Between 2018 and 2021, we have supported the birth of over 5,000 startups and SMEs in Nigeria alone, through our annual idea pitching and grant competition, called the Ugwumba Enterprise Challenge. In 2022, the Ugwumba Community is made up of over 10,000 youths and women, who are benefiting from our leadership and enterprise development programs on a daily basis. Through our Rebrand Nigeria Campaign programs, we are gradually changing the negative perceptions and ugly narratives about Nigeria among other nations of the world. Our programs have received the endorsement of several local and international organizations, including government agencies and foreign embassies.
