Our product portfolio has significantly evolved over the years – in 2017, we launched CKEditor 5, an ultra-modern and collaborative JavaScript rich-text editor that was written from scratch to accommodate modern content solution requirements like collaboration, and in 2022, we released a high-performing file management platform named CKBox (read more about our products in the Products tab above). CKSource – as a company – was established in 2006. We grew around a groundbreaking rich-text editor (formerly known as FCKEditor), initially built as an open-source project in 2003 by a Brazilian developer Frederico Caldeira Knabben. His software enjoyed such immense popularity in the open-source community that Federico had to bring more people on board in order to keep up with the community’s requests, and that’s how the company gradually expanded. In 2021, we became part of Tiugo Technologies, a PSG portfolio company focused on assembling a collection of global, API-first developer platforms in the document and data management market. Today, CKSource hires over 80 employees (with 50+ working in our Development department).
