Women Aware, Inc.
www.womenaware.netThe mission of Women Aware is to end domestic violence by empowering all individuals - women, men, and children - to live free of abuse. Today, there are thousands of survivors who are moving beyond abuse because Women Aware was there when they desperately needed help. Over the last 35 years, the agency has developed into a multi-faceted organization that now offers a comprehensive continuum of services in two locations in Middlesex County. Services include a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, support groups and counseling, children’s services, legal advocacy, outreach and community education and training. Three programs – the all volunteer Domestic Violence Response Teams, PALS (Peace: A Learned Response), and Permanent Supportive Housing serve as statewide models. Women Aware is dedicated to providing victims of domestic violence the same level of service regardless of economic income, race, age, sexual orientation and gender, because all people deserve the same core services. Women Aware believes that domestic violence is a social justice issue and we are strongly committed to eradicating this social ill. All our services are free and confidential.
