New Mexico Mathematics, Engineering, and Science Achievement (NM MESA) is a 501(c)(3) pre-college program that prepares middle and high school students for college and careers in mathematics, engineering, science and technology. The MESA program is coordinated through seven regional offices, each staffed by a Regional Coordinator, that is hosted at a local higher education institution, including: UNM main-campus (2), Highlands University (1), UNM Gallup (1), NMSU (1), Santa Fe Community College (1) and ENMU Roswell (1). Active in 85 New Mexico schools, MESA funds and provides logistical support for their students to participate in statewide and national competitions, workshops, field trips, community service, and leadership projects. MESA also offers a scholarship “Loyalty Award” to graduating high school seniors who enroll in college the fall they graduate.
