The climate protection agency Hanover Region consolidates all regional activities concerning climate protection since 2001 and strengthens its role as an economic driving force in the Hanover Region. The non-profit agency informs and consults citizens and businesses on a wide range of topics. Therefore, it develops and realizes information campaigns on the subjects of energy saving, renewable energies and innovative technologies. Our shareholder structure As a public private partnership, the agency is supported by its eleven shareholders, including the public institution 'Hanover Region' and the federal state capital Hanover, two energy companies and other renowned enterprises as well as an association of supporters. Our mission Among other tasks and responsibilities, the Climate Protection Agency implements climate protection campaigns providing information and counsel. These initiatives are geared towards creating incentives for investment primarily via communication activities. An example is the offer of free advice to private owners of houses on how to increase the energy efficiency of old buildings. This free advice provided by the Climate Protection Agency is strictly non-commercial. Further consulting offers for house owners and private households focus on solar energy and saving electricity. Activities tackling the issue of energy efficiency in companies are centered around the ‘e.coBizz’ campaign. This campaign aims to reduce the energy consumption of small and medium-sized enterprises by providing professional consultancy and advice. As a result about 2.200 consultations of private house owners / households and about 100 consultations of SME take place every year. All together the agency is well-established as a central institution for climate protection within Hanover Region.
