"I paint the skies with peace and passsion, because that's the way they paint me." I am a painter specializing in skyscapes. I work in many different mediums - watercolor, oil, acrylic and refractured watercolors - or watercolor collage and mixtures of the above. The refractured watercolor medium is all transparent watercolor on watercolor paper. I paint each sky or water reflection sometimes up to five times, depending on the size I am working to. Each variant is in slightly different colors and because it is wet in wet it is always a little different each time. Then I cut them and collage back together. I mount on panel and protect with layers of clear acrylic coating, so they don’t need to be framed. The size limitation is the largest a panel can be created - 8'x4'. Diptychs and triptychs can be created for larger installations. I don't know that anyone else currently works in this way. Each kind of paint offers different possibilities and has different strengths and restrictions. I also love working on different surfaces such as wood, metal or fiberglass, and as a muralist I also get to work on wood siding, stucco, cinder block and drywall. For durable installations, images can be transferred to tile, glass, acrylic or metal. I do murals locally in Southern CA and Western AZ and commissions anywhere it can be shipped! For commissions I will consider almost any subject and have in the past painted tie-dye and the words of a song. I can work with ideas or photographs and in formats designed to fit unusually shaped spaces. I also paint birds and will consider other pets, but sorry, I don't do people portraits.
