Since its entry into the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) in 2002, three-time back-to-back Goodall Cup Champions (2010 – 2012) Melbourne Ice are a club with a mission: To be the best club in the Australian Ice Hockey League, providing elite hockey to the people of Melbourne. The club has a strong emphasis on community, excellence and integrity, from the players, support staff and game day volunteers. The Melbourne Ice is made up of a strong core of players, volunteers and supporters and an increasing number of sponsors and members, with some games drawing crowds in excess of 1500 people. Melbourne Ice is a not-for-profit incorporated association, managed by a volunteer management committee. The management group is comprised of individuals with high-level experience in coaching, sports management, business, government and the community sector. With a reputation for being one of the premier Ice Hockey clubs in the Southern Hemisphere, the Melbourne Ice aims to foster Victorian talent at all levels and to grow that talent to elite levels within the league and the broader hockey community. As a member of the Australian Ice Hockey League, Melbourne Ice is affiliated with the Australian Ice Hockey Federation, and sanctioned by Ice Hockey Victoria and the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF).
