The concept behind Voodoomoodoo was to create high tech lighting with classical materials such as oak and glass. It all seemed so simple, we sat down, made our tech choices, tested them, brainstormed some ideas and went to build the prototype. It had to be original, use LED technology in an elegant and exciting fashion and look fantastic as a standalone object. The first idea of a jenga type lamp was a total disaster, and laughable and followed by quite a few other prototype paths until that lightbulb moment when we suddenly realized that the secret lay in being able to constantly develop new products. From rapidly taking wisps of smoke in the air ideas straight through to possible final products we started to learn the rules of our game, started to learn what were the unwritten rules and most importantly that when you hit a brick wall and you can’t get what you want, ignore all the rules and don’t be afraid to make completely new materials. In this way we have developed ice fractured glass as a brand new medium to work in and have spent the first six months in hiding developing a complete range we would be happy to buy ourselves, that we thought represented something new. We promise to bring to you, more new designs, bigger and bolder and exploring new directions as time passes.
