The Don Valley Football Club is a relatively new soccer league that predominately operates out of the Ultra Sports Centre on their indoor soccer fields. The league caters to those individuals who are 16+ of age. The purpose of this league was to take regular pickup and make into something more fun, competitive, and exciting. The inaugural season is currently taking place right now, having started in September 2017 and will run till February 2018. The league currently consists of four teams which were drafted using a pool of 32 players (excluding the four captains to give it a total of 36 players total in the league) by the four appointed captains. A season consists of 10 regular season games, along with playoffs to determine the League Champion. In order to get this first season under way, we required sponsors to complete our custom jersey orders which included the sponsor logo, a team logo, and names and numbers of each player on all 36 jerseys. We were able to meet our costs through combining the league fees and also a six individual sponsors who allowed us to have our jerseys this season the way we envisioned them! So far, the league has been a tremendous success. Those who have come out to either watch, visited our website, and/or heard of it through word-of-mouth, have inquired about joining it next season! We hope to continue this success and carry it over to our second season and beyond. The goal for DVFC is to attract more members to add more competition and diversity to the league, with a hope that soon enough there will be at least 8 teams in the league.
