The AIFC Academy of Law is a legal education and services platform, established to promote the development of jurisprudence, the rule of law, and the professional legal community in the AIFC and CIS region. Our vision is developing the AIFC legal system as a foundation for economic growth, and a significant component of the knowledge economy. Our mission is preparing lawyers for international commercial law practice by delivering legal education with global value. Our strategy is creating a unique education model that integrates law, business, ethics, and cross-jurisdiction practice. We focus on matters of AIFC law and practice, and international legal norms, with a view toward providing lawyers with the knowledge and skills required to operate in an international financial setting. We have an inclusive philosophy, and facilitate access to the AIFC jurisdiction. Our programs are designed to address the professional development needs of the diverse community of practitioners. Thus, our course offering accommodates lawyers with various backgrounds. We deliver differentiated value to stakeholders through world-class collaborations, international best practices, specialized learning experiences, and continuous program innovation. Our operating model resembles that of a law society, modified to fit the needs of the AIFC and its stakeholders. Our activities are organized across four functions, each with a distinct strategic objective: education (teach cross-system competencies); publications (create the intellectual property of the profession); pro bono (serve the public good); and, professional community development (advance law and policy).
