However, this should not, and will not, be a point of division within the body of Christ. Our theological roots stem back to John Wesley, who wrote that the character of a Methodist was not this or that belief, not even this or that church style, but a commitment to walk as Christ walked, love as Christ loved, and be as Christ was in the world. * A Reconciling Ministries Network Church: At Hapeville First United Methodist Church, we strongly believe that all people are of sacred worth. We take seriously Paul's declaration in the book of Galatians: "So in Christ Jesus, you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus." (Galatians 3:26-28)
