The Boys & Girls Club of Story County has been providing programs and activities for youth ages 7 to 18 in the Ames and Story County community since 1963. The Boys & Girls Club is a youth development organization dedicated to promoting character and leadership development, education and career development, health and life skills, the arts, sports, fitness and recreation. The Club focuses on three priority outcomes: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles and Character & Citizenship Development. Every day underserved, underprivileged youth come to the Club, a safe haven, where they are accepted for who they are; encouraged to do their best, and leave knowing they are important and understood. The Boys & Girls Club provides a safe place to learn and grow, develop ongoing relationships with caring youth professionals, and experience positive attitudes and guidance through programs and activities that enable members to develop self-esteem, and influence their ability to succeed in life.
