The Big Fresno Fair has been held at the Fresno Fairgrounds since it’s inception; the Fairgrounds encompasses 165 acres of land in the City of Fresno, which is owned by Fresno County and leased to the Fair that allows it to continue to operate. Every year in October, more than 600,000 people come together for two weeks to enjoy The Big Fresno Fair – the Valley’s largest annual event! The Fair features everything from live music, exhibits and attractions to live horse racing, carnival rides and more! It annual celebrates and honors the 15 Fresno County communities through exhibitions, community service and academic programs. The Fresno Fairgrounds is not only home to its annual Fair, but it hosts more than 250 public and private events – providing a flexible and affordable venue for the Valley community. It is also home to a year-round satellite wagering facility (The Starting Gate) and the Fresno Flea Market. Through support of its non-profit Foundation, Friends of the Fair, the Fairgrounds is also home to the Fresno County Historical Museum and The Big Fresno Fair Museum. A BUSINESS & ECONOMIC DRIVER Even though The Big Fresno Fair is a part of CDFA’s Division of Fairs & Expositions, the Fair does not receive any State revenue. Instead, the Fair is self-funded through business operations and generous community contributions. More than 1.7 million people visit the Fairgrounds annually! The Fresno Fairgrounds serves as an economic stimulator for the community, contributing more than $77.1 million in economic impact to Fresno County annually, according to an independent report from 2015.
