Antwerp based graphic and textile designer Julie Van den Meutter lost her heart to hand weaving. Hand weaving is a very old, time-consuming craft that for the most part has been lost in Belgium, because of the labor-intensive production process. Julie Van den Meutter creates a small, exclusive collection of lifestyle products, made entirely on an antique, Scandinavian loom in her studio in Antwerp. Her products have a warm and contemporary look and are treated with the greatest care - thread by thread - manually assembled into a unique fabric. Each design is limited to a very small amount of copies and is made of high quality and natural yarns such as cotton, wool and merino. In addition, Julie is working on a series of graphic drawings and illustrations.
