As the sibling of a special needs child, I grew up knowing the unique challenges that families with special needs face. After 20 years as a designer/machinist with Ontario Hydro and the passing of my sister, I decided to turn my efforts towards helping similar families and individuals. In 1990 I left Ontario Hydro to become a Rehabilitation Technician at Hugh Macmillan Children’s Center. In 2000 my long-time friend and fellow machinist, John Kupers and I started IDEAS FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING INC. Providing expertise and compassion to those we serve is the driving force of IDEAS. Ideas for Independent Living is a company devoted to helping people with physical disabilities regain independence in day to day life.
