Geneva Science-Policy Interface

www.gspi.ch

The GSPI’s mission is to facilitate impactful collaborations between policy and implementation actors from the international Geneva ecosystem, and the scientific community at large, with a view to generating impactful solutions to global challenges. Backed by leading research institutions in Switzerland and Europe, the GSPI promotes the development of effective practices through knowledge brokering, collaboration brokering and field-building. 1. Knowledge brokering: the synthesis of existing knowledge into actionable insights published in a digestible format via policy briefs or synthesis papers. These are reviewed by scientific, policy and implementation actors. 2. Collaboration brokering: the process by which the GSPI kick-starts, boosts or sustains collaboration between scientific, policy and implementation actors by providing, for example, funding, a neutral space, problem definition workshops, strategic advice or building relevant networks. 3. Field-building: the contribution to the advancement, professionalisation and recognition of the science-policy field by publishing content on best science-policy practices; conducting mapping exercises and decision simulation; organising events and giving speaking contributions; developing curricula; influencing mindsets; and channelling more resources into science-policy projects.
