r00tMI is a free, spontaneous and independent community born in 2019, with the objective to bring together cyber security professionals, enthusiasts and curious living around the Milan (IT) area. It has been created by a group of passionate friends working in different cyber security fields, ranging from technical, to products and governance. r00tMI aims to encourage the cyber security information and knowledge sharing, by leveraging the expertise and experience of its members. Within the community, there is an active support to develop new ideas and projects and to provide help to each other in addressing common security issues. r00tMI aspires to spread the cyber security culture by also welcoming non-technical security topics with a larger audience and by mentoring young members and curious. r00tMI promotes innovation, creativity and ethical hacking. Main initiatives - Ethicalseclab: lab environment designed to develop Red & Blue team skills with adversary emulation sessions. - Pizza meet-up: different talks held in pizza restaurants around various topics, followed by free and open discussion and networking. - Night talks: virtual 1-2h speaker presentation on a specific topic, followed by a Q&A session and material sharing. - Continuous research: surveys and researches to tailor the focus to the community pursuits. - Telegram channel: an active and open telegram channel for the members to exchange ideas, news, security alerts and to discuss topics, raise questions, ask for help.
